Ethical question: Is the wording of this obituary in good taste?

Every day, obits across America list the death of an "ardent" Yankee fan, a "lifelong" Yankee fan, a "passionate" Yankee fan... etc. And many say this:

From The Trenton Times

SKILLMAN- Edward C. Meyer Jr. of Skillman, NJ, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, in University Medical Center at Princeton, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Meyer was 77.

Born in Port Jefferson, NY, he resided in Princeton before moving to Skillman 45 years ago. A Korean War veteran, Mr. Meyer served in the Navy aboard the USS Murray. He was a member of St. Paul's Church, the American Legion Post 76 and the Antlers Sportsman Club, a volunteer for the Tara Mark Foundation
and a die hard Yankee Fan."

Well...?

Either way, condolences. We don't need to lose footsoldiers.
