Giants Punter Matt Dodge Offered Starring Role in Broadway Production of "Spider-Man"

Rookie punter Matt Dodge loves life on the edge. Now, with help from coach Tom Coughlin, the New York Giant kicking specialist is ready to take on the ultimate stage: Broadway, as stunt double for the new Spider-Man show.

"Matt is a show-stopping performer," said Coughlin, who said he came up with the idea Dodge moving to Broadway after sitting three hours in a dark room Sunday night, following Dodge's last punt. "I thought and I thought, how could we get Matt swinging from a rope? And then it hit me: Spider-Man!"

As luck would have it, a sudden cast opening came Monday.

Now, it's all up to Dodge to battle his internal "Green Goblins" from Phily and not worry about going "out of bounds."

"With Coach Coughlin in charge of my safety net, I can't wait to tackle the role of Spidey," Dodge says. "When he says jump, I jump.'

  1. Were the 3 touchdowns in 7 minutes before the punt return his fault too?
