They Are Victims Of Their Own ( fill in the blank)

So now Joba goes down with an elbow.

Meet Pedro Felicianao. Meet Chin Ming Wing. Meet Dr. Andrews.

Nonetheless, instead of bringing up Tim( Jim, Tom?) Norton ( lights out at AA so far as a reliever ), they sign Jeff Marquez who failed as a Yankee, as a White Sock and as anything baseball.

This guy has been selling roofing materials and playing in a slow pitch beer
league ( where he played first base ) for the last two years.

And they bring him up. Why?

Because he is over 30 and pitched
once ( and badly ) at the major league level.

The Yankees simply refuse to give youth a chance. They don't want to know what they have or, more realistically, don't have.

I know why they don't want to showcase any young talent: they are hoping his numbers at AA will hold up so they can trade him for another Boone Logan before the league figures out he actually sucks. Or for some other loser whose career is either behind him, or never happened.

There must be some more Met cast-offs floating about.

This Yankee regime should all be fired.

All the team is playing for now is Derek's 300oth hit. Which, I predict, he will get in another Yankee loss.

We are looking at a decade of horror. Minimum.

  2. And Randy Levine took the picture, so he's up the creek, too. He took a lot of Weiner's photos, too, I hear.

You know, you can't blame the Yankees for liking veterans. These are guys who have been in the big leagues, they're used to the pressure. And it's important to get them after they've spent 10 or 15 years proving they can do it, night after night, 10 or 15 years ago. Unless they proved they couldn't do it, and that's OK, too, because you just can't beat experience. But what do I know? The Yankees have great scouts, and I'm sure their people see something in these players that we just can't. Now, you could say that's because it isn't there, but you can't know that. You just can't. Look at Colon. You just can't figure baseball.
