John in the second inning: "The Yankees are in their normal spot: Behind."

It's not just the fans who are freaked by this lifeless, oafish, blundering team. It's the announcers.

John on Tex's second inning at bat: "A high pop, a mile high... he caught it on the edge of the infield dirt."

  1. The story of this season can be summed up as:

A failure in every phase of the game. Nobody, not one player, has come through in a big spot.
    Even Rivera crapped the bed.

  2. I heard that 'normal spot' mention.

I sure hope his kids love him because some day they'll be pushing his wheelchair around the house. Will they be tempted to give him a nudge down the stairs?

I haven't heard any Wendy's ads. Is that only for extra innings?

  3. If only we had a right-handed power bat who could go the other way...someone young...someone dynamic...

At least Aceves and Melancon lost it for the Red Sox today.
