Maybe, though, this will start a trend and players - especially on the Red Sox - will start to look like ballplayers again instead of gay lumberjacks. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
There's actually a lot wrong with that! The gay lumberjack is a trademark of Georgia Pacific, and the Red Socks had no right to commandeer the likeness. Expect lawsuits.
On the other hand, the commercial where the quicker picker upper absorbed more shed tears over the past eleven games than the leading brand was a stroke of marketing genius.
