I imagine that's how everyone reacted when they finally hit with runners in scoring position.

Big shout out to Nuni for doing what he does best and losing his helmet - and making a critical mistake that cost his team the game. Love ya you mistake prone idiot. He'll probably hit a couple of homeruns in this series, because all former Yankees do that (even the Grandyman and his Mendoza line average), but make a few fielding errors.

  4. Yow!! And to think, I wasn't going to watch this one - - I thought it would be a slaughter - - another gut-wrenching "WHEN are we going to bring in someone in scoring position??" I almost gave up after seven, as it is...but whatta' eighth!

Then, of course, El Chapo had to come in and work his ninth-inning "magic". First sixteen pitches he threw, maybe four of them were strikes - - and we really can't blame Cubby Culbreth, either.

I take back everything I said about Aaron Hicks last year - - I'm sorry, Aaron! Mea culpa.

Now, if we could just get the OTHER Aaron straightened back out...but enough! Onward to tomorrow - - Go, Sevy!! LB (No J)

  5. P.S.: All-Caps is right: Girardi & Cash-puss need to go bye-bye - - yesterday!! This win was no thanks to Girardi. He took out the relatively hot Cooper in the 7th, to have Headcase pinch-hit - - who promptly hit a weak pop to left field...matchy-matchy, you know...and he almost let El Chapo blow it in the 9th, too...not to mention, he had the whole last one third of the line-up consist of non-hitters, again.

The guys came through, IN SPITE OF Joey and his blue binders.

Maybe the Beantown Bums really ARE our bee-yotch, this year - - we can hope! After all, if it weren't for us, they would be running away with the league. LB (No J)

  7. Joe's method of building confidence in a rookie: take him out, when he is red hot, for a skanky former third baseman who won't do a thing. But, because it is a BIG GAME, the kid gets the hook.

"Can't have you playing in NYC, son, when the game matters. Not against Boston."

    Great personnel management, Joe.

I'm sure, had Holliday been on the bench, Joe would have called upon him to come up and give us an anguished strike out.
