Searching for meaning in a meaningless universe

  1. I was looking at the boxscores today and I wondered:

    Amburgey?

    Hendrix?

Then I thought about John Sterling's potential HR calls:

    Amburgey flips one!

    Hendrix experiences one!

Then I decided it was time to go do something productive, like clean the shower floor.

  2. I like this as a regular series, the "Searching for Meaning" etc thing.

And LBJ, the shower floor can wait.

I'm calling the dog "Santo" or "King Santo"

Any wisecracks from this crew and I'll start telling bad jokes and then you'll be sorry you said anything.

  3. Ron Santo holds the distinction of being one of those players whose cards Topps slipped THREE of into every single pack of baseball cards sold in the 1960s.

The others, of course, were Claude Osteen, Joe Foy, Herman Franks, and Clete Boyer (but only when he wasn't with the Yankees).
