"Ballgame Over! Red Sox Challenge to the Yankees' Meta Win Record OVER! TH-UH-UH-UH-UH YANKEES WIN! TH-HUH-UH-UH YANKEES WIN!"

Yep.  It's all over.  My friends, the Boston Red Sox will NOT win 125 games, at least not this season.

Our meta, all-time sports record stands.

Terrific, all-around effort tonight.  Well, all right, except for ICS, still staggering backwards in the dust storm outside Mendoza.  And Stanton, now up to 203 strikeouts, just 20 short of the record.

But still.  Great to see.  Most of all...because we kept the record.

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-HAWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

Also, it was fun to beat David Price.  It always is.

Heheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheh.

  1. THERE'S ONLY 1 1998 YANKEES BABY.

THIS WAS A GREAT "FEELGOOD" GAME THAT WE HAVEN'T HAD IN QUITE A WHILE.

    DARE WE START TO DREAM?

SUDDENLY, I FEEL WE HAVE 3 REAL GOOD STARTERS THAT RIVAL OTHER TEAMS 3 STARTERS.

....BUT WE HAVE TO GET BY THAT ONE GAME.

    THAT ONE GOD DAMN GAME.

  3. I hear ya, ALL-CAPS. But I dunno. I been up and down with this team so often, it feels like this season has lasted a decade.

It seems like they might be able to finally put the injuries behind them, and make a run.

But...they are just as likely—at least—to get smoked by the Athletics.

    Impossible to figure them!

  4. Look at what we celebrate and be still for now.

  5. If your team (any team) gets into the one-game playdown, all it needs to do is win 60% of its post-season games -- 12-and-8 -- to win the World Series.

    Easier said than done, certainly.

    But still: Do-able!
