Joel Sherman still thinks the Yankees can be talked into signing Gerrit Cole

He argues the case, as if there is a chance in hell that Food Stamps Hal would actually spend the money.

When will they ever learn?

When will they ehhh-ver learn...

  1. When will they ever learn?

As my Scottish grandfather used to say, "Two weeks come a fortnight come Friday."

In the above, "night" would be pronounced like "nicked" and the overall meaning would be taken as "never".

  2. THERE IS LIKE THIS "DARK CLOUD" OVER THIS TEAM'S HEAD.

SEEMS LIKE ALL THE NEWS IS BAD FOR US ALMOST ALL THE TIME....EVERYTHING.

WHEELER INTEREST FROM OTHER TEAMS "BOOMING".

NL TEAM HAS SIGHTS SET ON BUMGARNER.

    WHITE SOX HAVE "OPEN WALLET".

GREG BIRD MAY RESURRECT HIS CAREER IN BOSTON.

END OF 2020 MARKS PAXTON AND TANAKA'S WALK YEAR....

    ROMINE LEAVING....

NO IDEA HOW LONG DOMINGO WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR (DIDN'T THAT HAPPEN ALREADY)?

COLE SIGNING WOULD PUSH YANKEES TO 3RD TIER LUXURY TAX LEVEL...

    SEE WHAT I MEAN?

    BAD, BAD, BAD, BAD.....

    I HATE THIS SHIT.

NO STADIUM FOR ME THIS YEAR HAL, UNTIL YOU SHOW ME AN ACE.

  3. I'm feeling the same way, ALL CAPS, although I will make an exception for super cheap seats if we do another IIHIIF Huckleberry Convention. For that, I will give Hal some money for one game. It's worth the company.

But yeah, this is a year we could have really pivoted and gotten better, gone into the next season with some hope and swagger OR we could do what we are doing - making bonehead moves that WE can all see from a mile off, but that Hal and Cash are either oblivious to or just uninterested in. They are prime grade morons, although Hal is laughing all the way to the bank and Cash thinks he scored by keeping his job for another year.

    What assholes.

  4. Agreed—and that's the thing: we all have different goals.

HAL wants to maximize profits and minimize costs.

Coops wants to keep his job and his ticket to, well, you know where.

We...want a great team to root for.

Once upon a time, all of these things were compatible, much like how once upon a time—well, here and there, for a few periods in history, anyway—everybody wanted business to boom because it meant the owners would get rich, the workers would do well, and the consumers would flourish.

Not anymore. Not in America. We figured out how to make huge profits WITHOUT anything trickling down.

    Clever us.
