Plague Theater: Slade Heathcott's great moment

9/14/15. Must game. The Yankees are down to their last out in the ninth against Tampa. A walk by Gardy. A double. An intentional pass. Somehow, it all comes down to Slade Heathcott...

  1. KID WAS INTENSE.

THOUGHT THAT MOMENT WOULD PROPEL HIM.

    IT DID NOT.

YES, RICHIE ALLEN, WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN...

  2. Slade deserves a drink for that one!

Now, imagine what that moment would be like for us if it happens this season, and there is no noise.

  3. Astonishing to me how bad so many of our first round picks are. They can't play, they don't play, or they won't play for us. I think they're selected by random computer search.

How many with serious emotional or family problems, like Heathcott, or Brien Taylor? How many who are fragile giants, like Judge or pretty much every pitcher we draft? How come we have no good idea if guys like Gerrit Cole will sign with us?

What we could've done if the Steinbrenners had just been able to tolerate a general manager who knew what he was doing...
