Every silver lining has a dark side and, with this team, it is very dark indeed. You can count on new and creative ways to screw up the Mark Leiter Sweepstakes. Certainly the position of General Manager as Sinecure has been nailed down despite the all too obvious evidence there needs to be an impeachment clause in the corporate charter.
"Banana Smirch" is an anagram for "Brian Cashman," but there are so many more if you see what our friends at the Internet Anagram Server present: https://new.wordsmith.org/anagram/anagram.cgi?anagram=briancashman&t=500&a=n
"Randy Levine" becomes "Lavender Yin" and Hal Steinbrenner becomes Herbal Sinner Net, among many others.
Life is too short to waste on another moment's thought about the moron, the loser and the idiot, though. I am off to get some shit done.
Britton was actually very good, but inheriting guys on second and third with no outs is a deadly situation.
Boone, of course, brought Lasagna in for the second straight day after he's been on the Covid IL for almost two weeks. Great idea. Really smart. And then he leaves him in to get pasted for about three batters too many.
What a clown. They say the players win and lose the games, not the manager, but I think we can lay the blame for at least some of these late-inning disasters directly on Boone. He doesn't pull Chapman when he's getting killed--twice, right?--then does the same with Greene and now Lasagna.
When it was runner on first and second, that’s when you bring a ground ball pitcher like Britton in. You don’t bring him in with runners on second and third - that’s when you bring in a guy that can get K’s.
Boone is so overmatched, it’s an absolute joke. I’m done watching baseball for a while after today. This was it

Oops- Mark is 58 now. Time flies! But think how much money he would save Hal! Platica!
ReplyDeleteJack, on the other hand, will not.
Not good enough to win. Not quite shitty enough to tank. Brian fucks up everything that his Spidey hands touch.
ReplyDeleteThe definition of "mediocre" is: Of only moderate quality; not very good.

ReplyDeleteYou do realize that last night's victory was not the NYYs over the Red Sox, but AChapman over . . . AChapman.
And he didn't make it easy on himself, did he?
@13bit...my favorite anagram...Aroldis=Rolaids
ReplyDeleteGio's back. But Torres is still at short.
ReplyDeleteWe finally homer…
ReplyDeleteBRAVO Bitty> I cannot unsee Banana Smirch, LOL!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd this has to be the sleepiest game I've listened too yet,,,,,, tho the Yanks are winning for now
PS> I hate Stanton so sooooOOOOOOoooooo much!
ReplyDeleteWhy Boone doesn't sit him for a few games is yet another mystery of the incompetent.
ReplyDeleteTorres gets a few hits and gets cocky on the bases. Dumb, dumb, dumb. You can never have too many runs at Fenway.
Will Boone let German start the 8th? Probably. But on a very short leash. Great game by Sluggo.
Double. Yank him now. And hurry.
ReplyDeleteOh, Lasagna.
ReplyDeleteTAKE OUT LASAGNA!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy God, they're doing it again. And Boone, as always, is not moving fast enough to keep up.
ReplyDeleteMotherfucking moron.
Oh, no, Britton.
ReplyDeleteWe're doomed. And no outs.
This asshole Boone doesn't belong coaching little leaguers.

How he keeps his job is a total mystery.
And we lose.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Boonie, you schmuck.
W - Workman
ReplyDeleteL - Boone
That gives schmuck's a bad name.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of guys that know schmucks, RIP Jackie Mason.
ReplyDeleteAnd the Anti-Jeters strike again
ReplyDeleteIt's ridiculous how the losses get more and more jaw-droppingly crazy.
I mean, they couldn't script shit this unbelievably pathetic.

Wile E. Coyote has a better decision-making success rate than Aaron Boone.
ReplyDeleteThis was on Stanton.
