If you're like me, you're sick of hearing about Omicron, the economy, global warming, child poverty and whatever else these do-gooding worry warts conjure up to ruin our positive vibes from the ongoing MLB lockout.
From now on, whenever you see another news report about a mass shooting, or a climate catastrophe, or hospitals overflowing from blah-blah-blah, just remember that they're merely trying to distract us from the One True Goal of 2022:
To shrink the Yankee payroll below MLB's future luxury tax threshold.
I think I speak for the Yankiverse in saying that we don't want Freddie Freeman or Carlos Correa... we don't need Aaron Judge... or pitching... or an everyday centerfielder. Money doesn't grow on trees, people. And these are over-the-top luxuries that the Yankees simply cannot afford.
What we want is for our owner, Hal Steinbrenner, to receive a decent living wage.
Papa needs a new pair of shoes.
I say, let's hope this lockout lasts through September.
Lol. That is why I call him Cheapskate Hal.
ReplyDeleteBig question: If the lockout kills the 2022 season, does the Yankees' winning season streak, now at 29, continue?
ReplyDeleteJust wondering. Big picture, folks, BIG PICTURE.
