Game 143: Lotta empty seats

Looks like the Fenway Faithful need a new name.

Holy cow! Look who's back, batting ninth:

  1. Fucking incredible, but not unexpected.

  2. YES has no idea what to do with Beltran, so they've thrown him on the pregame. He still sucks, maybe a little less.

  3. He's OK in the studio because he understands the game. Speaking extemporaneously under the pressure of being a color man was not a good use of his knowledge.

  4. The guy who has been MIA is Perraza. He had a three hit game the last time they let him play.

The only thing I can think of is that he came up too late to be in the playoffs so the priority is to give at bats to the "regulars"

  5. Nice at bat by Gleyber - Donaldson has lost his mind

    ReplyDelete
  6. Senility setting in. Poor guy.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Nestor good - IKF with that nice grab to bring us back to bat - HICKS!

  8. Fans masquerading as empty seats…

  9. “I should have the vote” -John Sterling explaining what is wrong with MVP voting.

“And Suzyn too” when he remembered she was there.

  10. Maybe they should’ve save those cardboard Covid cut outs

  12. A Little League homer for Gleyber. ... It's so much fun when the Red Sox suck.

    ReplyDelete
  13. That was pathetic on the Sox's part. Holy cow.

  14. Hicksie's throw home was juuuuuuuuuuuuust a bit outside.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I really enjoy watching Cortez pitch. Those weird, funky hesitations he throws in are so much fun. ... Of course, if he was getting lit up, I wouldn't like them nearly as much.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Trevino, nice double off the monster.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yeah, Cortes is fun and fast, too. No dawdling.

  18. The Clark Schmidt Show was really good tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yes, very good JM. But the little league 3-run Homer? That was priceless!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Nestor was excellent. Giancarlo looks completely confused at the plate. I hear Giancarlo once had a really really good season. Once.

  21. Ellsbury factoid shown by Yes. He still played for the Yankees in 2017? Is that true? Cone was amazed too.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Gonzales is not a first baseman.

    ReplyDelete
  23. How many cheap hits does Lasagna give up before the big one?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Marwin Gonzalez doing his best Bill Buckner tribute in Fenway Park

    ReplyDelete
  25. The thing about Marwin Gonzalez is that he's supposedly so valuable because he can play so many positions. At this point in his career, though, that just means he plays a lot of positions badly.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Please. Let Lasagna throw some more batting practice. Please Boone.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Win, those were a lot of cheap hits.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Holy Fucking Misaligned Universe Batman!! A challenge went our way???

    ReplyDelete
  29. It looked like Cabrera should have caught that bloop and Marwin…

    ReplyDelete
  30. I know those hits weren't booming, Dick, but Lasagna wasn't getting any swings and misses.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Marwin has hands like a bucket full of bricks.

    ReplyDelete
  32. The Fenway fans screaming disapproval when the call got overturned ... did they bother to look at the replay? It was clear as day that he missed the base. That was an easy overturn.

We are getting sooooooo lucky tonight. Boston is fucking everything up. I mean, how does a Major League ballplayer miss first base??? How do a Major League team give up a Little League home run, like the Sox gave to Gleyber tonight? It's obvious why the Red Sox are a last-place team.

  33. Senor Sombrero gets a gift double.

    ReplyDelete
  34. And Abraham Almonte doing his best Aaron Hicks impression in center field for the Sox.

    ReplyDelete
  35. How in the world does a guy get a LL homer in the schoolyard?

    ReplyDelete
  36. What's it called when a player strikes out 5 times in a game? Asking for a gigantic glass friend.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Wow. Almonds looks like Greg Luzinski out there

    ReplyDelete
  38. Boston actually sucks! As in, they are not good.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Almonte is not a center fielder.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Red Sux handing the game to us on a silver platter…

    ReplyDelete
  41. This is not the Holmes you're looking for.

    ReplyDelete
  42. But the town has no need to be nervous.

    ReplyDelete
  43. As Cone said, nice adjustment by Holmes.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Thihuhuh-yuhyuhyuh-uuhuuhuuhuuh! Uh! Yankees win win!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Sorry I missed it; sounds like a fine shit show, in our favor. But...back in time for highlights!

Ah, no season is too bad when we're 18 up on the Sox. Heh heh heh heh.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Can it be…that we are actually turning the corner? 8-2 in our last 10.
Then again, the Sox really look bad. And by bad, I mean awful.
Day off tomorrow, Then who knows what the fuck in Milwaukee.

  47. YES 999 - we are right - super tight - AOK - we’re OK

    ReplyDelete
  48. I like DAVID CONE - give me three of those with Kay any day

    ReplyDelete
  49. "Fenway Fickle"?

Highlights were a lot of fun—but yes, who knows with this team anymore?

Brew Crew has some good pitchers, not much of a lineup. Yeah, we'll see!
