Redsocks' song: "Patches, I'm dependin' on you, son..."

Proud day to be a Redsock fan.

Is this how they keep Rafael Devers?

From now on, let's call them... the MassMutes?

  1. Nah, its how you make money even when you are too cheap to sign your best players and you know your fan base will show up, whether you win or lose.

Whatever John Henry gets away with today, Hal Steinbrenner will do tomorrow.

  2. Yeah, it will be "Liberty Mutual at Yankee Stadium with parking by Progressive."
BUT, no names on the Jerseys, just Swooshes and Bigelow Teabags.

I heard that he is going sell signage on the shirts that the Stadium vendors wear. Mostly sports books with up to the minute odds rolling across their chests.
That way people stay interested during late inning blowouts and Hal might sell more wieners and dipping dots.

  3. Thanks for the mental picture, Ranger.

Before long, MLB players will all look like NASCAR cars. Looking forward to the huge Tide logo on Judge's chest.

  5. Not Tide, not Liberty Mutual, ballplayers will be wearing a patch for whatever gambling company the Yankees have a stake in, and the stadium will be renamed "The Bellagio."

  6. Gaylord Perry, RIP. He deserves a mention. Great spitballer.

  7. From Twitter via River Ave. Blues via Yanksgoyard via duck via no a goose? (Via Chico Marx)

"MassMutual chief Roger Crandall ended his remarks about thrill of becoming Red Sox’ signature partner for next 10 years by wishing the ’23 team better success than ’22 squad — but to still finish in 2nd place, behind his fave team, the Yankees."

  8. And now the rest...

    1) Don Mattingly - Sigh. Because a bench coach, as in someone who is paying attention and making strategy DURING THE GAME, is exactly what the Yankees need.

1A) Hopefully the Mattingly curse of no championships continues.

    2) Gaylord Perry

Ah for a return to the days when cheating was an individual art as opposed to chemical or a team wide conspiracy with all the buzzers, whittles and trash cans. RIP. I hope he doesn't slide out of the coffin on the way to the grave site.

    3) Donaldson

He could be my least favorite Yankee ever. There is NOTHING that I like about this guy. At least El Gary earned the name El Gary before he became El Dissipiontamente.

  9. Wow, to be whore is one thing. But to be a whore who lets yourself be insulted by the john...

The day the ads go on the Yankees' uniforms—which is likely coming—is the day I stop watching the game altogether.

  10. Also, great to see that the Yanks are continuing their usual condition of negotiating in the press with Judge. I'm sure that's going over very well.

  11. Hal is negotiating with “The Dollar Store” in keeping with the Clubs spending philosophy
