When you play a crapola team, like the Angels, without their stud best player, like the Angels, and you don't sweep a doubleheader, like what we did with the Angels yesterday, you didn't split. You splattered.
And the Yankees spatted. I turned it on in the late innings, when we were down 8-2, no hope, crowd thinning, YES team promoting tomorrow - against the frickin Angels - a laugher, a blowout, a big ugly loogy spit splat.
The Redsock fan was snickering. He says they just handled KC, and they'll make the postseason and that, "I like our chances." That's how Redsock fans talk. He thinks they're going to splatter us in October. And why wouldn't he?
We're one game away from being beaten in a series at home by the Angels, the frickin Angels, without their best player. If that happens, we're right back into the June freefall. I need a drink.
I hear the Team of the Century showed up last night. Or was it the Team of the Garbage Dump? So schizy. Almost like Jeckyl and Hyde. Great teams have, among many other attributes, the gift of consistency. We are not a great team. We are the product of a weak, distracted mind - Brian's - and he gave us the airhead Boone. And this is all possible because, repeat after me, HAL DOESN'T CARE. HAL'S MAKING MONEY AND HAL DOESN'T CARE. Like other plutocratic greed head billionaires now, Hal is a supreme, self-centered narcissist. Let the first guillotine be erected on River Avenue. I need coffee to temper this vicious mood.
ReplyDeleteI think the Will Warren experiment is done...
ReplyDeleteWhen you're a kid, doubleheaders seem like double time at the amusement park. When you grow up, doubleheaders seem like they're mostly split--just big double nothings.
ReplyDeleteWhat I’ve seen of Warren I don’t like. He’s 25, with over 70 minor league starts. If he’s not ready now he may never be.
ReplyDeleteRegarding last night, the team got way behind early and decided to call it a day. You can bet your bottom dollar boone didn’t say shit about it to them.
They probably should've scored 15 runs in the first game but only scored 5. Lack of clutch hitting continued in the second game, only scored 2.
ReplyDeleteWarren seems to have a penchant for giving up blasts with guys on base. He's gotta learn that you can't make it too good at those times. Not the minors anymore, kid. With men on base, you've got to make really good pitches and avoid those gofer balls.
Doesn't Oswaldo Cabrera look like a starter now? Whether at 3B or 2B. Damned shame that Gleyber will start over Cabrera the rest of the year. Damned shame that Cashman will probably re-sign Gleyber this winter. Damned shame that they'll trade Cabrera this winter for a bag of money. Yankee Wonderland, what else can you say?
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Ridiculous that Oswaldo is not starting. And yes, a very punk effort—indicative, yet again, of how Boone cannot get this team to play for him. And once again, great day at the ballpark for all those fans who paid a fortune back in November, 2023, for the night game.
ReplyDelete"What, they already played the one game they were going to try in, and now we have to sit through the drizzle and watch them go through the motions? Great! I'll be back REAL soon."
