Pete Abe Quote of the Day

Thought you were safe by moving across the country, eh Bobby Abreu?

Not so fast! The Lord of the Lohud has Wall-E in his crosshairs this morning, dropping this bomb on the Yankees ex-RF:

"They’re started dismantling the old Yankee Stadium, stripping out the grass and now they’re taking down the outfield walls. This part of the wall had very little wear and tear as Bobby Abreu rarely touched it."

Memo to Susie Arth, Sports Editor at Lohud: If the man isn't the highest paid employee at the Lohud Compound, then forthaluvoGeezus, give him a raise before ESPN scoops him up and chains him to a desk in between Steve Phillips and Buster Olney.

The man has only paved the way in the sports blog industry. Christ, there's a reason EVERY sportswriter in NYC refers to him as The Blogfather....

  1. Gannet will add another week's "furlough," as a reward.

  2. Pete belongs on ESPN. They might as well finish out their all star booth of Morgan, Miller, and Phillips with Abraham.

  3. He did give me a laugh with that remark. But I miss Abreu.

  4. Steve Philips should be standing in the window of Macy's, modeling shirts.

Or anything else where he doesn't have to speak or think.
