Another Reason Why We Love Bill Buckner


He's wacky!


Speaking at an old timers dinner in Illinois, the conversation obviously shifted to Game 6 and the former Red Sox first baseman's famous error on Mookie Wilson's ground ball in the 1986 World Series against the New York Mets. Buckner's first thought after it happened?

"My first thought when it happened was, 'Wow, I get to play in a seventh game of a World Series. How cool is that? And my other thought was how bad the people in Chicago must feel, Boston being here and their team not."
