"Nike... McDonalds... Redsocks...?

This is Redsock CEO Larry Luccino, responding to fan complaints about the new "alternative" hats unveiled for the team this year.

"We're kind of lucky to have the Hanging Sox, there are very few organizations that can be identified without any words. There's the Nike swooosh. There's... the golden arches of McDonalds and the Hanging Sox of the Red Sox. No letters, no words, no nothing. Just a symbol."

Damn straight. The Lucch has a point.

It's rare for a sports team, or anything for that matter, to be known by a symbol. There just aren't many.
