To the Editor:
Signs of a beautiful fall are all around us:

Sunsets coming earlier; apple-picking; leaves turning red, yellow, and orange; elections; football; and (drum roll, please) ... the Yankees falling short, again, in their post-season pursuit of a World Series championship.
