Nobody has mentioned this, but in a season of bad omens, bad juju, and bad offense, something really bad happened in Trenton:

"Chase, the bat-retrieving golden retriever for the Double-A Trenton Thunder who made highlight reels all across baseball for a decade, has died at 13."

A favorite of Trampoline Chamberlain and David Quincy Adams. Beloved by fans. Mourned by all.

This is not good. Not good at all.
