Sorry to be this way, but today - Aug. 11 - if the Yankees are destined to lose the AL East, I'd just as soon have them miss the post-season entirely - rather than get in via the stupid, one-game Bud Selig Wild Card.
Of course, if they make it, why kid ourselves? We'll all get suckered into it.
So I post these words as a time capsule:
On Aug. 11, 2015 - regardless of how the 2015 Yankees eventually finish - the notion of this team winning a Wild Card birth leaves me nauseous.
