The Yankees are a highly dysfunctional organization. So, ownership sees no major problems with personnel competency or dedication. It's almost as if the Bloated Front Office is a distant branch of a multinational widget conglomerate that's never in corporate consciousness. Therefore, there will be no change. But if a miracle occurs, my vote would be for Donnie Baseball in either position. He's very baseball savvy and experienced as a player, so he can relate to and teach players in the organization. But he's old-school enough to hold these players and related staff accountable.
Novel (documentary?) was set partly in the town I lived in when I was very young (pleistocene age). Reading it, I assigned characters to corresponding real people. Made it even scarier.

One can Hope.
One can Dream.
One can cry like an onion.

I'm pretty sure the Nationals changed ownership within the last couple of years. No such luck with the Yankees.
A sixties hit song procliams "Some Kind Of Foo," and that is Hal. It will take alot more form the two schelps to let go by the Yankees Doofus owner.
