Well, if you've been waitin' on Cashman making a big move this winter: here it is, come and get it!
Bradley Hanner (hope I got his name right). Who the hell is he? Right, I'ze thinkin' the exact same thing. Seems he's a career minor leaguer who's bounced around, last year with an ERA of almost 5, and gave up 13 HR in only 49 innings pitched. And that was down in AAA! Cleveland.

Hmmmm. 13 homers in 49 innings pitched. Don't that come to a homer every 4 innings? Which if he was a starter would equate to a whopping 50 homers allowed, if he pitched 200 innings.
Remember those military commercials? "Aim High"
Seems the Yankees didn't get the message. The motto here seems to be "Aim Low" or at best, "Aim Average". Or maybe they did get it right. Because that'll be a whole lotta "it is HIGH, it is far, it is gone" ... for the other team. We got this sad sack for 800K, courtesy Food Stamps HAL & Cashman Dumpster Diving, Inc.
*P.S. Thanks very much to Stang for showin' me how to put up one of these articles on e-blogger. This is the first one I've ever put up all by me-self. Before that, I had to depend on you guys to put these things up for me. Not exactly a tech genius, me. Guess I shouldn't ever bother applying for a geek squad job at Staples! "Don't call us, we'll call you..."

Hammer Time!
Hanner Time, I meant.
Hammer on Hanner
Gold chain, long shorts and sneakers look good on you El Duque!
Lets hope he's not a Hanner house of horror coming out of the bullpen
The Yankees aren't taking on any new money, and they're not allocating any new money. The CBA's up at the end of the 2026 season. Hal figures whatever new rules will be in place under the new CBA...whenever that is signed....will be more favorable to ownership. Or even if not so much, at least he'll know what the rules are. At that point, he can start signing up new highly paid employees. Beetween now and then? No way. Sign a player to a huge multi year deal 12 months before the current CBA expires? Take on new liabilities a year before the current CBA expires? That's foolish.
You know that Reggie Jackson gave Hammer his name, don't you? True story!
As for Orange Hitler, this was his big criticism of the Iraq War (I forget which one): "We should've left, but we should've taken the oil."
Many thought this was just Donald Trump talking out of his usual, astounding ignorance. Take all the oil out of Iraq? How, exactly? And store it where?
But that is how he thinks—much as Real Adolph Hitler thought: war is conquest and loot, not trying to put the world right or make life better for anyone. I imagine we'll now get to see exactly how he meant to do this in Venezuela, God help us all.
Horace...You're too legit to quit!
Hammer was the batboy for the Oakland A's, so I'm sure that's part of the story.
Unfortunately, Hammer shares my birthday.
Yo, sound the bell, school's in, sucker.
