I believe that we at IT IS HIGH celebrate Yankee wins more joyously than anywhere in the known Rizzutonic universe.
And when our heroes fail, we fling our buckets of flaming feces harder than anywhere else in God's creation.
Last night, we ran out of gasoline and shit.
Last night brought what should have been the worst Yankee embarrassment since - say - Babe Dahlgren and Spud Chandler headed the war-ravaged teams of the 1940s. In fact, it was merely our worst game since Saturday and - if you want to travel back further - since the infamous Game 5 of the 2024 World Series.
October embarrassments now happen on an annual basis.
Choking has become the Yankee brand.
Seriously. How else do you explain the last two games against Tampa, when they have...
Nearly been no-hit.
Failed to plate one baserunner.
Struck out 18 times.
Turned every routine grounder into an adventure.
Played as if watching the game on TV. (Can someone explain to Spencer Jones that, in the postseason, players dive?)
Resembled the Redsocks.
Against Boston, they made every play.
Against Tampa, they've botched everything their way.
Listen: This is where we're supposed to say it aint over, that we can win two in NYC and send this thing back south (maybe to coincide with a roof-shredding Gulf Coast hurricane.)
Sorry, but it aint gonna happen. (Actually, the hurricane might.)
The 2026 Yankees are a team of destiny.
Just not the kind we wanted.
We know how this ends. Like last year, and the year before. The Yankees have mentally cleaned out their lockers. If Tampa scores, it's over. It will end on a cold, blustery night, with the Yankees down by a handful, with the TV announcers blathering excuses, with the umps hurrying things along, with the Rays pointing to objects thrown onto the field, and with the authorities fearing the cascade of boos will become something far worse.
We're going home, where the anger will be hard to ignore.
The worst is yet to come.

4 hits.
4 errors.
This team is incapable of playing fundamental baseball. Sterling is screaming from the grave.
Starr insurance shouldn't be the sponsor. It should be Chico's bail bonds.
We should protest the French way. Burn the Stadium.
It's hard to even root for a miracle series comeback when you despise the way the team plays.
Amen, Zach
Despite the endless hope that our little inner children nurture for the Yankees,we knew this was going to happen deep down.
Yeah. Why would anyone be surprised? Lucy was always going to pull the football.
Practicing fielding and fundamentals is for pussies. They practice hitting HRs like real men. That's how they've made it to playoffs for 30years.
This team needs an enema.
Boone "prioritized" the defense but he must have used a negative algorithm by mistake.
Boone is an idiot.
Should Volpe go back to short? Compare and contrast.
Bonus essay question: list the number of times Boone's decisions have cost us games. Discuss his complete inability to see players for what they are and scream at them when they're morons. Use one sheet of paper. Write very small.
From a write-up in The Athletic: “Immediately after Chisholm’s error, an opposing scout in attendance sent a text to The Athletic: “There it is.” The remark was in reference to the Yankees’ reputation for making mistakes when the pressure is on.”
Doom Doom Doom

Under Pressure
Do I have to 😰
Choking and stupidity. The moronics lead by Clown Chisholm.
A plutonium enema.
Hey, dust off those Guillotines!
Amen, Amen!
Soon it'll be Columbus Day, or Indigenous People's Day, or Igneous Rock Day, or whatever the hell they call it today. I read somewhere once that Columbus spent all his time telling people "I told you so" after coming back from the new world. (I just asked AI, and it says he didn't say that. But AI is fucking stupid, wrong all the time.)
But anway, here it is, with due credit to Christoph Colombo: I TOLD YOU SO!
I predicted the infield defense meltdown, did I not? McMahon did not fail me. On the first play of the game, for crap's sake. Jism. And now Lombard has caught the hot potato disease.
Errors and more errors and errors that were not errors.
I think the Tampons forgot to hit parachutes and dying quails to short center field. (That's coming next game, I believe.)
Perhaps they felt they didn't need to elevate the ball because they were getting such great results on the ground in the infield.
Yankees never hit Tampa pitching. They don't Tampa's starters and they sure as hell don't hit Tampa's relievers. The players change but the results stay exactly the same. Been going on for many years now. Soon it'll be decades.
What we just witnessed, folks, is what happens when a clown show tries to play against a real professional major league ball club. "What we have here ... is ... a failure to [play fundamental baseball]"....
Did I say the Rays are good at hitting the other way, hitting through holes, putting the barrel on the ball? Did I say Palacios would kill us?
Funny, when the Rays hit liners, squibbers, bloopers, bleeders all over the place, no one talks about how hard it is to make contact against all those great strikeout pitchers in baseball today.
When the Yankees get one hit, the crazies will you that the Yankees need to swing the bats harder with more uppercut action and try to hit home runs, because it's so difficult to make contact against today's pitching. Yeah, it's Austin Well's fault, because he failed to hit that ball over the wall in Game 1. "If you're only going to get one hit, might as well make it a home run! Efficiency is what counts in these low hit games!" I can't stop laughing at the crazy morons out there. Splitting my sides laughing....
BTW if Palacios played for the Yankees, he'd be hitting .137 and never get more than three games in a row. He'd be going up and down, mostly in AAA. Everybody would be sayin' "that Palacios, what a loser, a AAAA player, a failed major leaguer...."
Between that guy Meidroth on the Chicago Whities and Palacios, who would you want? I think I'd have to go with Meidroth, but damn, Palacios is a clutch player.
Call Vladimir Putin.
