4 - 6 Weeks Plus ReHab?

So Stanton pulls a hamstring trying to stop his semi-like body on a down hill run into second base?

Few athletes pull Hammy's while decelerating. And when your flat out top speed is 3-4 mph, one wonders what will give out next?

And the prognosis is 4-6 weeks?  A lifetime in baseball.

The real danger here is that this gives the Yankees a lengthy excuse to keep Hicks on the bench and not take another look at Florial. I have given up on Estevan.  If you are a young Yankee, you just have to show your value when you get your chances. He never did.

All of baseball, in fact, endorsed the Yankee decision to let him go.  And, oddly, he wound up back in Scranton where he has started producing again.  I understand that he might still not " have it " for the next level. But I know Hicks no longer does.

Why not give the 25 year old another shot, while Harrison glue boy continues his endless rehabilitation?

I keep hoping for a Hollywood ending.

We don't often get, you know?

Time for a 12 pack of Mexican Cerveza.

Yes, I've given up on Florial too, as a starter. But there's no reason why Hicks should usurp Florial's spot on the roster as a 4th or 5th outfielder.

Well, there is a reason. Yankee management likes to hang on to dead wood until it is rotten, mouldered, and turns into dust. And they like to do that for a myriad of reasons. Take your pick: simple stupidity; extreme aversion to risk; extreme aversion to inexperienced youth; finances; lack of desire to win; desire to maintain the status quo. Might even be a combination of all those.

THEY KEEP SENDING THESE ASSHOLES OUT THERE BECAUSE TO DO OTHERWISE WOULD BE TO ADMIT THAT BRIAN MADE A MISTAKE, THAT HE FUCKED UP, THAT HE IS NOT ONLY FALLIBLE, BUT CONSISTENTLY WRONG. THAT THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES.

A-MEN, Alphonso!

Really, any smart organization would cut bait with Giancarlo, too, and trade him for whatever. Or at least ban him from a weight room.

And yes, GIVE FLORIAL A SHOT! We are actually going to see Falafel playing dozens of games out in CF, before they will give Florial a shot. C'mon already.

Boone is an idiot. Cashman is incompetent. We are doomed.

FLORIAL CAN’T HIT MLB PITCHING. Enough already, how many times do you want to see this kid flounder? He’s a late inning defensive replacement at best. As bad as IKF is he can still slap one for a single once in awhile.

I’d rather see Florial than Hicks. I don’t think Florial would hit consistently at this level, but he could fit the the role of a fourth or fifth outfielder…I guess teams don’t carry 5 OF’ers anymore, everyone has 13 pitchers.

Speaking of Sanchez, he’s not exactly lighting it up in Sacramento: BA .185 / OPS .593 / K% 33%

@ borntorun999 Sanchez might be done. We've speculated about his head, but he might not be able to physically do it anymore. Catching is the most physically demanding position. Could be that he flamed out at age 26 or 27. Everyone's body is different. Some guys can get old in their mid-twenties. So it might be that we're being too hard on his mental approach, desire, discipline.

Hammer, who can say? Some guys look like world beaters when they first arrive, then burn out just as quickly. There is an emotional and mental aspect to professional sports. Agreed, catching is the toughest, bar none. For Sanchez, conditioning and effort were always lacking. If there is a path back to the bigs for him, it is DH only.

Hoss - Florial doesn't need a shot. I hear the cream and the clear work just as well.
