—Joey Gallo batted .138 in June, with 32 strikeouts.
That makes him the first Yankee EVER to finish a month with a batting average below .150, and 30 or more strikeouts.
—Miguel Andujar has 2 hits in his last 7 at-bats with runners in scoring position.
Joey Gallo? Two hits in his last 25 at-bats with runners in scoring position.
—Matt Carpenter now 8 home runs in 51 plate appearances this season—after hitting just 7 in 418 plate appearances over the last two seasons.
—Aroldis Chapman walked all three batters he faced in Game 1, the second time he has done that this season.
Only four other pitchers have done that in the majors. Since 1901.
Thank you, Ms. Sharp. And excuse us, please, while we step outside to vomit.
JOE MUST GO!

"A Base Hit For Joey Gallo and other stories"
I heard this was a clean thread…. Don’t worry Gallo will shit all over this one too.
Can I point out when back to back is not also belly to belly, there is no chance of a Zombie Pitcher Jamboree of Three.
Well, PG, anyway.
Fish over birds: Rays gobbling up the Toronto Juniors again.
Mets lost, their lead down to the lowest since the end of April. Decent game by Josh Smith, one of the 4 prospects we dealt for Joey and Joely, though none of them are exactly overwhelming.
Nestor getting his mojo back against these guys.
Higashioka: Another guy that doesn’t belong in the bigs.
pssst..don’t tell anybody , but Judge is in a bad slump. Last 15 games; 9-55, .164 with 16k’s.
His avg dropped about 30 points.
Donaldson doubles. Whaddya know.
Then makes a dumb baserunning mistake.
Let's hope the bullpen can get Mario the win.
And Callo gets a day of rest tomorrow after running all the around the bases today.
You can't expect him to be superman, Rufus.
Wearing my NESTOR shirt 'cause I knew it would help. AND IT DID!
That Nestor shirt is above average
This game was won when Enrico Palazzo struck out.
And I grant Mr. Callo (esq.) his needed time off. Let's say a few months or maybe half a year?
When was the last time Gallo was the RBI?
Peralta fucking up. Bases loaded now. Boone yanking him.
Yankees Win!!!
Win!
Holmes gets his work in :)
Done and Done.
Not a bad day.
Except the Master was not a part of it.
And Enrico Palazzo didn't sing the National Anthem.
The guy on the radio said that Gallo broke out of an 0-26 slump with a single and a walk.
Which is not exactly breaking out, and 0-26 is something a bit much worse than a slump.
Nasty lowers his ERA to a Yankees rotation best of 2.44. Next in the rotation is Cole at 2.99.
hmmmmm
I am away for the holiday weekend. Bermuda. I'm checking in but probably won't post. Something about no screens when at the restaurant.
58-21. As mentioned, Rays took 2 from Jays.
Cubs starter Alec Mills injured his foot on the second batter he faced against the Red Sox. Mark Letter, Jr.—son AND nephew of two old Yankees—came in and shut them down. Dave "Houdini" Robertson got the save. Sox lost, 3-1.
The lead is 14 games.
'Captain, she can't take anymore!'
DRobby got the save in Friday's Sox game, too. He's got 11 on the season.
The scary thing is that I think Gallo had a good June (for him, I mean). Meaning that he's going to get worse, a lot worse. Can he go 0 for 250 in the second half? I think he can do it, with a big assist from our trained Ba-Boone, who continues to press those blinking lights in the rocket ship's control console.
