This post reminds me of the old Phyllis Diller joke about her hope chest, that ended "but with my chest, there's no hope."
And I also remember the Yankees pre-season press jaunts with Ralph Houk that stopped at a "motor inn" near the Albany Thruway exit. We always had some kids who "really look good" and veterans who wanted to "get back in form" from their pathetic prior season.
Nothing changes. We just get older.

I don't see why not. And it certainly fits in with classic Yankee playbook principles. One a-hole leaves, another a-hole comes in. Now that they've got rid of Cowboy Chapman, they've got to replace him with another reprobate. Can't have the club too thin on reprobates. They make us the bad ass club that we are. Bauer and German, together in the rotation, enough to make all the feminists out there cringe and crawl into a hole. It's too bad Cowboy Chapman is gone to KC, that would've our version of the Nasty Boys: Bauer, German & Chapman. They could've all worn white wife beater shirts the CSS (Choke, Slap & Shoot Club).
