We said, “Pitch well, Son !”

That doesn’t mean giving up any home runs, sweetie.

So start throwing som more heat in on the hands and buckle those Mariners knees with some nasty
shit, love bunny.

Oswaldo is REALLY hurt.

Doug K. said...

They won't even show the replay.

Doug K. said...

His leg got bent backwards and they took him off in an ambulance

BTR999 said...

Could be broken leg? I was watching but didn’t see what happened to the leg.
Cabrera was a gamer, making sure he reached back and touched home plate.

Carl J. Weitz said...

I didn't see how he hurt himself. The catcher lunged to tag him and missed a couple of feet up the line. Oswaldo avoided him and then dove back to the plate hand and stomach first. If I didn't see him grimace and slap his hand down in pain, I'd never have realized he was injured.

AboveAverage said...

not good

BTR999 said...

Game. Hope Cabrera’s injury not as serious as it looked.

Doug K. said...

I have MLB so I was able to go back and watch it again. He had to go around the catcher to avoid the throw and then passed home plate and abruptly change direction to get back to the plate. When he did that his leg bent wrong. Like really wrong. It almost looked like his foot was going in the opposite direction. He had the presence of mind to reach out and score and then started banging his hand in pain.

Judge came right over and stayed with him the whole time, helping him remove his gloves and looking every bit like a concerned father.

Doug K. said...

Very sad. You know it was bad by the fact that they called for the ambulance and the looks on all the other ballplayer's faces. Like someone died.

AboveAverage said...

I too watched it the same way as Doug. Such a painful thing to see. Almost like front office DJ LaWitch Craft at work there.

BTR999 said...

I was able to watch it online. It went as Doug said. Looks like an ankle / lower leg injury. Quite a gamer he made sure to touch home plate AFTER the injury.

AboveAverage said...

looks like he could have done substantial damage to his ankle

BTR999 said...

Boone confirms, left ankle injury.

AboveAverage said...

He is a gamer and a super nice guy - sorry to see him hurt

Carl J. Weitz said...

You can watch the replay in ESPN.com

It looks like he slipped or caught his cleat in the dirt and twisted his ankle.

HoraceClarke66 said...

Awful, and very sad.

So...what now? Maybe call up The Lombard? He's hitting .329 in high A ball. Maybe time to give him a little seasoning, just to fill in?

Carl J. Weitz said...

He's at Somerset now.
