Warmed up the old Zenith to see if YES was carrying anything on the big signing, and saw that the listing for 1 PM read, "Yankees Press Conference."
Hot diggity-dog, I thought, remembering the days of watching Catfish and Reggie step out to put on the old Pinstripes and Tiffany hat.
But what to my wondering eyes should appear? Why, a YES man interviewing some schlub with a bad haircut from Bad Boy Mowers, about...wait for it...the 12th Annual Bay Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl!!
Yes, it's back! And back with it—for the first time in ten years—is Syracuse, the only two-time Pinstripe Bowl champion!
Sure, last year Pinstripe Bowl attendance dropped below 30,000 for the first time, in Maryland's 54-10 blowout of Virginia Tech. But this year—well THIS year—the excitement is just overflowing!
Consider:
Special events, promotions and community outreach will take place throughout Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl week to once again create an unforgettable experience for fans, families, students and staff. Scheduled visits to New York City institutions will include One World Observatory, the 9/11 Memorial, Radio City Music Hall and more.
The night before the game, on December 28, the bowl will be publicly recognized by an iconic New York City landmark as the Empire State Building will be lit in the school colors of Minnesota and Syracuse.
It's a whole WEEK! And...the Rockettes!
Can't wait to see how the Empire State looks done up in Syracuse orange, plus Golden Gopher gold and...what is that? Vermillion? Carmine? Maroon?
But in any case, the excitement never stops in the Steinbrenner Empire!
