Jazz is one of us

From today's  NY Daily News story about Jazz Chisholms's good games playing in Trent Grisham's baggy pants and, last night, Giancarlo Stanton's:

Stanton and Grisham are not the only members of Chisholm’s Brotherhood of the Traveling Pants, as he also wore a pair belonging to Randal Grichuk, who the Yankees designated for assignment last month after a slow start to his season. Those pants did not bring good fortune Chisholm’s way. “I think it cursed me, because I was getting hot,” Chisholm insisted. ”I got hot, I wore Grichuk’s pants, I lined out twice, and flew out at the warning track. “I said, ‘Oh, see, you just put bad juju on my short-pant game.'”

I saw a little bit of last night's game and was wondering about those pants. Actually, I admired them, being kind of an old school look instead of the usual skin tightness of today's uniforms.

The guy got three hits. No complaints. Clearly, the Grichuck pants were an error in judgement.

Growing up, I had three older brothers. That meant I received exactly ONE (1) pair of new pants a year until I was 14. For first day of school, during which I usually tore a hole in at least one knee. I fv<{ing hated that situation.

I am 66 years old and I have never considered, much less followed through on, wearing another grown man's pants.

I am insane in other ways, like expecting Yankees management to actually want to win championships.
