George Lombard Jr. has been really, really good. But even so, it'd be smart to take it easy with him and only gradually move him up in the batting order.
Lombard started out in his first game hitting #8, I believe. Today, Jackass Boone has him batting #5. https://www.yardbarker.com/mlb/articles/yankees_make_surprising_george_lombard_jr_announcement/s1_17355_44171106
Boone's era has been characterized by this kind of bull shit. A guy could hit #9 one game and the next, he's hitting cleanup or #3. Maybe it'll work out today, but I"ve always thought it's better to move a kid up the lineup cautiously. These are human beings that you're dealing with. Not numbers on a data sheet. It speaks of piss poor management. Very poor judgment. Incredible lack of understanding of human psychology.
How 'bout if I was the GM of the Yankees, or the CEO, whatever. Maybe I'd have Boone cleaning the toilet stalls one day. Then, if he does a good job, he can be managing the next day. Then, if he doesn't do so good a job, he's the batting coach. The next day, he's the outfield coach. Then he's the bubble gum boy, responsible for keeping the bubble gum bucket filled. The next day, he's the official whore procurer for the upcoming road trip. Then, when he did such a great job finding hotties, he's the manager again.
It seems a lot like the movie "Pirates" with Walter Matthau. One day, he's floating a piece of driftwood on the ocean. The next day, he's leading a prisoner on a Spanish galleon. Then, he's leading a mutiny, taking over the ship. Soon after, he's in the middle of the ocean, adrift on a piece of wood again.
As long as we're on the topic of piracy: "Pirates" with Walter Matthau is a great, great movie. So many hilarious scenes. Matthau is pretty incredible as a pirate captain. Comes on dvd with wide screen, something like 2.35 or 2.40: 1 ratio, which I love.
An old movie with Errol Flynn, "Captain Blood" is really good too. Old style swashbuckler, this one. Flynn's movie lead debut, I believe. In like Flynn!
Then there's "The Island" with Michael Caine, who also did a stellar job. The kid who plays his son was also terrific. Unfortunately, that kid only made maybe one other movie and he was done. Must've decided acting was not for him. 'The Island" is a really weird movie, generally regarded as a flop, but I really liked it. Something about this one.... It oozes cool, from the gun shop scene, to the plane crash landing on an island, to Michael Caine getting raped by a pirate woman, to the infamous .50 caliber machine gun scene on a Coast Guard cutter. I feel like Michael Caine must've had the time of his life. Seriously, getting raped by a pirate woman? Wow, where do I sign up for that?
Well, it technically was not rape. Because the pirate wench and Michael Caine were "married" by the pirate captain. Which is a legal marriage, right? So she puts a chain around his neck, leads him to her hut, where she takes the woman on top position, and rides his cock like a good cowgirl. I'm sure he didn't need no fucking viagra for that scene. Slave husband to a pirate wench. What's not to like? I'd have killed to be in his shoes, or, in his neck chain!
Oh, there was one catch. (There's always a catch, right?) The pirate wench has to do it whilst wearing a mud mask, looking like a demon out of hell. But if it's dark, that ain't so bad, right?
Rice was fucking crazy for doing the stupid home run derby. Take a thousand swings at 40 mph b.p. fastballs and try to hit 'em out. What a great way to develop the wrong muscle nerve connections!
If I was a ballplayer, I'd never hit against bp fastballs. I'd only use the pitching machine, cranked up to 100 mph. Like they used to say in Manowar, all men play on ten! Well, Spinal Tap had eleven, but there was only one Spinal Tap.
That kid in "The Island" must have had the time of this life as well. Running around, shooting guns, talkin' like a pirate. Playing fucking "Long John Silver" as Michael Caine up it. Too bad the kid didn't get to bonk a little pirate wench. Or maybe he did, but the horrified producer removed it from the final cut. "You want a major motion picture event to feature a 15 year old pirate boy fucking a 13 year old wench? Americans can't handle that monstrous level of sexual innuendo."

He's a prisoner on a Spanish galleon. Sorry, don't know what the hell happened there.
He could still be leading that prisoner on that Spanish galleon, HoG.
Then, when he does a good job, he could be scooping out bloody entrails to the sharks inches above the water in a leaky dinghy
Trent Grisham, the slowest centerfielder in baseball, makes it to 2nd base.
Oh crap, he's out on the replay challenge. Fuck fuck fuck
Lookin' like a 1-0 loss today!
Seems the team is sleepwalking through another day game.
Boone : it doesn’t matter because we won the first two games.

Hot take: Rice will finish the year batting under .230 and won’t reach 40 hrs.
You could do a lot worse, for sure. There are some Bangkok whorehouses, for instance....

Boone is a fucking moron and an asshole. Is this guy 60 years old or 6 years old? I'd say maybe 5 and 1/2.

Maybe in the French release....
As we thought, this game is a fucking snooze fest. I think I'll go watch "The Island" again tonite.
Why is Rosario PH instead of Wells, who has to enter the game anyway?
Although it’s been said, many times, many ways… boone is an idiot.
Love to DFA the useless Rosario..
Love to DFA boone.
Hope someone in the fawning media will ask boone about his PH choice in the post game presser
Jazz ends the game with an extraordinary AB !
CHILDREN VISITING THIS SITE: Please do not read the above post!

This is what they're calling "Woke 1.0" What's not to like?
