John Sterling Frick Award Watch

Key Informant David writes to tell us that John Sterling, the voice of the Yankees, last night called a big hit more or less this way ("I paraphrase only slightly"):

“IT’S A TWO-OUT DOUBLE BY ROBBIE CANO!
ROBBIE CANO . . . DON’T YA KNOW!
A RIBBIE DOUBLE!
A RIBBIE BY ROBBIE!
Oh . . . what am I saying?
It was Jose Molina.”

This guy is an idiot. What burns me the most is when he goes "it's high, it's far....it's caught!" with 2 men on base. I have already added 3 runs to Yankees total and then find out it is caught - so instead of no runs, to me I now have to SUBTRACT 3.
Can't he just watch what happens and then report it - it's on the f---ing radio, man. I can't see it, why does he have to guess - just report. Nooooo, his ego gets in the way. Hey John, believe it or not, we tune in to hear the Yankees not hear you.

I hate it when there are three men on base and I add FOUR and then I have to SUBTRACT FOUR!

It's not so bad when there's one man on and you have to add two and then subtract two, but FOUR?! Sum bitch, I hate that.

I guess when he does it with nobody on that's not that bad. Because then I have to add one and then subtract one, but I'm OK with that, sometimes.

And don't even get me started when he complains about how the umpire delays a strike call. Wo' boy.

He got me all jazzed up with a blown call the other day while I was driving, I had to change my pants when I got home.
