Former star outfielder/senate icon -- moderate lefty scorned by right-leaning GOP/Redsock Nation, which sought to replace him with hard-hitting Jacoby Ellsbury/Pat Toomey.

After failing to reach agreement with Boston ownership/Club for Growth, he signs with arch-rival Yankees/Democrats, causing rage and cries of betrayal from Redsock Nation/AM radio which vows to purify team and fan base.

Despite injuries/cancer, Specter/Damon outperforms his replacements, but it's not yet known if he will win a ring/re-election.
