OK, Somebody's Gotta Say It: The umps screwed us

Yeah, I know how lame this looks... but dammit, it's gotta get said.

This Boston series produced the most one-sided umpiring we've seen in years.

It's one thing to squeeze home plate for both teams. That's not what happened.

Were the umps pissed about playing in the rain?

Supposedly, they make the call to postpone a game. I can't understand why they didn't call both games. Conditions were horrible. It's early May. It never stopped raining. Yet they didn't make the call.

Did Yankee management push them?

And did they decide to send us a message?

That was not the same home plate. The YES barkers said nothing. Because they are so linked to the team, they knew how bad it would look to complain. They also knew the umps will take it out on the team later.

When Pena struck out with men on base, he took a called strike two that was crazy. Melancon walked in a run on a pitch that creased the plate. For all his strikeouts, Joba probably threw 10 more pitches than necessary.

Sorry, folks, somewhere... it's gotta get said.

In both games, the umps were against us.

What went on between the Yanks and the umps in deciding to play those games?

Here's the umps's message:
We want a roof.

Is it possible? Is it possible that there is yet another factor to figure into the Yankee destruction in recent years? Ive been noticing all season that the umps have different home plates for us. Not just this series, the last one too. So lets tally it up:

- Big money free agents dont pan out year in and year out.

- Bullpen is terrible.

- No clutch hitting.

- Constant injuries.

- Ineffective young stars.

- Arod.

- And now lets tack on the Umps.

Somebody's gotta man up and speak The Truth.

All you brown-nosers out there, you're afraid to take on The Man. You'd say, "Hey, Mr. Stalin, your mustache looks great! You been working out?"

Not me. Truth to power, baby. Truth to power.

Can't complain that much on the umps. Beckett gets that call on Ramiro Pena every time. It's like calling a charge if Jordan dunked on Bimbo Coles. David Stern would have a heart attack. And if Ramiro Pena takes till first strike (or just straight up take because he's Ramrio Pena the lucky-to-be-here minor leaguer), he wouldn't swing at a 2-0 slider in the dirt.

Sure there were some bad calls, but regardless, we put ourselves in a hole this series. The umpires didn't help us climb out of it, but we didn't help ourselves either. Can't control the umpires, but this team can definitely control ourselves

And ESPN thinks that the Yankees now play on Tatooine.

(was up last night, since changed to Joba)
