Zell Swings and Misses about NYC choosing YES over ESPN

Zell's Pinstripe Blog is required reading among Yankeeologists. Go there every day. And his latest treatise, which notes how NYC couch potatoes favor YES over ESPN is -- as usual -- factual.

Says Zell:

"The Yes Network has become more popular than ESPN in New York. How crazy is that? Well, it’s true. Network officials stated that YES beat out ESPN in the NY DMA by 26,000 households."

Well, sometimes, even a master misses a hardwood forest for the maple trees.

Zell, Zell, Zell, whaddaya, whaddaya, Zellllll...

The answer is right in front of you.

New Yorkers have finally recognized that ESPN is an idealogic, syncophantic, blustering, crimson-panties-wearing mouthpiece for Bostonian venom, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Redsock Noise Machine.

It's no wonder the salt crystals of New York turn their proud backs on al Jazeera broadcasts spewing each day from the once-foreseen Redsockian utopia -- now a wife-swapping flea market of Cialis-dazed ex-yuppies and stringy Stepfords on Zoloft -- known as Bristol, Connecticut.

Do liberals listen to Rush Limbaugh?

Do conservatives watch Rachel Maddow?

Yank fans have our Fox News. It's called YES.

And we have our Limbaugh. He's called John.

And we don't need Glenn Beck. We've got Alphonso!

Get back to your computer analyses, Zell. Find a way to beat the Angels.

I prefer the YES Network to ESPN myself...I just thought it was some interesting info to pass along.

Thanks for the link. Zell

Here in the far outer boroughs (West Boca), YES is a no-show.

But a local AMer runs all the Yanks games, and apparently can't sell local spots, so we hear most of the WCBS commercials and promos along with John's call. And Suzyn's wheezing.

We'll see what happens next year... they may change format to Black Weather or Russian Disco by then.
