I know I shouldn't question the great and powerful Oz, but that was weak. He helps the Yankees win? Is he goung to use that in a 10-1 game? Assuming Randy ever hits another.
I have no doubt that the very existence of this blog has lead to Sterling feeling the need to give everyone a personalized homer call. Thank you IIH, and thank you Mr. Sterling.
I love how he had a call already lined up for Randy Winn (who hadn't hit a homerun in over a year), yet he still doesn't have one for Brett Gardner. Very weak. On the other hand, I'd prefer he had absolutely no home run calls whatsoever because they cause my ears to want to commit suicide, but hey, that's just me.
Really, Mike Lupica?? That's fucking insulting. Yes, I can deal with "Bern Baby Bern!" and maybe even "The Giambino!" But come on, the Randy Winn call was absolutely pathetic, and if Sterling INSISTS on having a home run call for every Yankees player, why doesn't he have one for their starting left fielder (even if he is a scrappy little speedster)? Sterling was much better back when he worked with Michael Kay. He's too over-the-top now that he's got Suzyn Waldman verbally blowing him at every turn. Regardless, I am still a big fan of this blog though.

this was so forced!
you can hear him starting to fold under the expectations of needing a home run call for EVERY hitter. Back in the day it was only for the stars.
is he going the way of Vasquez?

THANKS "MIKE" "LUPICA" FOR YOUR GLORIOUS INSIGHT. DO NOT INSULT THE MASTER.
What WAS his call for Gardner, anyway? I hope to heck it was "Gardner plants one in the right field seats." I mean, how could it not be?
I'd also settle for "By chance, the Gardner hits it out."
"Keep the hits constant, Gardner!"
