Today's "news:" Aaron Boone is "looking forward" to seeing Miguel Andujar in spring training. He tells the Murdoch Post.
"His shoulder has been feeling good and there’s no reason to believe he won’t be full bore for spring training."
Some hopefully suggest this means the Yankees won't trade Andujar. In fact, it could be spun to say the opposite: That Boone is touting Andujar's heath as trade bait.
Just to remind people, in case they've forgotten:
Andujar will turn 25 in March.
In 2018, he hit .297 with 27 HRs, 47 doubles, and 92 RBIs. He ranked second in the AL in doubles, 10th in batting average. He finished second in the AL Rookie of the Year balloting, which was rigged from the git-go for the Japanese Babe Ruth.
Yes, he hits RH in a lineup that tilts toward the starboard. And yes, as the 2018 season concluded, his throws to first base worsened, (though this coincided with the arrival of Luke Voit, a below average fielding 1B.)
If we trade Miggy, we damn well better get a haul.

You do not trade hitters like Andujar.
AGREED.
YOU BEND OVER BACKWARDS TO TRADE THAT STIFF WE "STOLE" FROM THE MARLINS.
...AND YOU PAY OFF A BIG CHUCK OF THE CONTRACT TO DO IT.
THAT'S THE PRICE YOU PAY FOR INCOMPETENCE.
I wonder if his throws to first got worse because of his shoulder. That shit hurts.
I would trade Miggy and Happ-y in a package with GStanton. Take our great player, take our underperforming pitcher -- but you got to take our freaking nightmare as part of the deal.
Frankly, if we got nothing in return but some mustard and ketchup, I'd be fine.
NORE: If you're gonna have Happ-y and GS on the same team, you are going to have to pay them $43 million together for 2020 (yes, for one damn year).
The NYYs are on the hook for another $17 million for Happ-y in '21. And they must pay GStanton a bunch of money, annually, forever. This last almost makes you wish Greta was RIGHT about the end of the world coming soon.
Maybe not soon enough...
It would suck to see Miggy go, but it would come with a bit of joy if Stanton was made to disappear. Wouldn't it?
JoeFoB, I know your heart is in the right place, but you sound a tad overexcited and maybe delirious.
Trading Andujar would be a big, big mistake. The guys who we should trade: Stanton, for anything, and if necessary, pay for nearly his entire contract; Luke Voit, because we need to unload some right handed hitting to make room for Clint Frazier as DH. I think Clint Frazier will be a much better hitter than Luke Voit. Mike Ford and maybe Andujar can play 1B/DH. Frazier can rotate at DH/left or right field, whichever he's better at.
