So we are back to rooting against them because if they fail to make the one game play in there's a chance that Boone (and, please, please, please, Hal) will not be back next year.
Works for me.
Well, Suzyn, I thank you...

I would never root against the Yankees, Doug. Nothing would please me more than if it turned out that HAL and Coops were completely right and I was completely wrong, and we swept to a World Series win this October.
But it's not a case of wanting something, it's a case of the material evidence from the last 23 years (talk about a large sample size!).
That's not going to happen, because Coops doesn't know how to run a ballclub, and HAL doesn't care. And as for Boone...hey, he seems like a nice guy and I would just as soon not see him fired.
As far as the team goes, it doesn't make any difference, really. He doesn't make any decisions on his own and the next stooge won't, either.
Keep your eyes on the prize (we can get): 6 more wins!
86 wind total. That is it, My Babies!
We are not rooting against the Yankees. We would never do that, even if Juju somehow required it. We just don't do that.
We CAN, though, not be sad if they continue to lose. I don't think that anything will every pry Brian's Spidey ass out of that office. He's with us until we all die. Boone will get tossed at Brian's convenience.
If they do lose, though, it will only serve to make Brian look like the bumbling idiot that he is, so we don't have to mourn every loss. It's a win/win.
Nope, they will blame on Covid
