The YES clowns are pissing me off. Curry & Co. are framing Judge's HR as having "sparked" the rally. Stanton's rare achievement somehow ends up being Judge's achievement. Glass has had a pretty awful year, and he finally does something heroic, memorable, and wins the game, but it has to have been "sparked" by Judge--who himself admitted he should've hit a dinger when HE was up with the bases loaded, and was berating himself for hitting a solo shot that, on its own, was meaningless in terms of the game when he hit it.
Judge is having a great, historic year. Do they have to hype him even when he doesn't deserve it? Cripes. He hit #60. End of story.

You're right, JM, it was silly. But I DID like the Judge kept the styling to a minimum, knowing the team still looked out of it.
And I want him to tie and break the record as soon as possible. Let's get this over, and look to clinching the division. Then I can die happy.

This may be heretical, but I really don’t hate the Sox. They were mostly a crappy team during my life, the whole rivalry thing seemed a media promulgated invention leftover from previous eras. However: I have nothing but contempt for their “fans”. Been to Beantown several times, been to Fenway twice. The creatures in attendance seemed to be more shaved apes than humans, their profane and ignorant ranting and behavior an affront to any decent person in attendance. Luckily, their aim was as bad as their behavior as several missiles launched in our direction missed their intended targets.
Fenway is a great place to watch the Yankees play :)

I dunno. As a chipper young Yankees fan, boldly sporting his hat and all at Fenway in the late 1960s-mid 1970s, I actually found them pretty tolerant.
But then, the rivalry had truly faded by then. Most years, the Sox were the better team, but both were well behind the Orioles and A's. It had been decades since the red-hot competitions of the late 1940s.
Things picked up again soon after I left for the city, and it's probably unpleasant to be a visiting fan in either town. What I dislike about Boston fans is their constant insistence on being a persecuted underdog in all things compared to big, bad NYC—and their refusal to address the racism in their ranks.
But more and more, as time goes by, I see what we have in common: Old school teams, old school cities, in an increasingly beige and arbitrary culture.
That would be cool...
I was at Fenway for Jeter’s last game. I hated sharing that moment with those clowns.
Tonight, Judge needs 61 and 62.
Meaningless 63-66 in Fenway.
Amazing 67th against anyone else.
The Sox games are in the Bronx, Beauregard. If I had the time and scratch, I'd go see them all. But of course, if I did that, Judge would not only fail to homer, but we would be no-hit at least twice.
Back to the proposal in the post: No, absolutely not, don't walk him. Let him get 61 and 62 at home and ASAP.
Then, let him get 12 more in Boston so he can break Barry Big-head Bonds' record.
The most important thing is Judge getting 61 before or on game 154. No more asterisk. Then getting 62 after that.
The rest after that is gravy...

I know they’re in the Bronx, I just don’t want to share this moment with them. It elevates them, and they are dirt.
When I was a kid, growing up in NJ as a Yankees fan I didn’t think poorly of the Red Sox… I didn’t think of them at all! They were an irrelevance. I was way too busy hating the Mets.
It was only when I moved to NH and realized how much they hated us that I even thought to hate back. But they were good then.
Now they aren’t. They’re as low as the Pirates.
Let’s do this without them. Tonight.

The Sox have become trickster and shape-shifters this century. One year, yes, they're in the cellar. The next, they take the whole shebang. I don't trust their lows anymore.
