Is it just me ( it often is ), or do others find vulnerability and inanity in the following medical assessment of Bader Bader, better known as " das But?" :
"His foot is not 100% and he will have to play in some pain. But he cannot damage the foot further by playing." ( Doctor Anonymous).
What am I reading?
His foot is not healed. It still hurts him. And yet playing will do no further damage? Which doctor in the audience wants to help us out here with a medical explanation?
Why does this sound like Cashman said something like;
" I am looking like the asshole of the baseball world, giving away a terrific, young, left-handed starter for a guy lying in a hospital bed. Get him up and fucking put a uniform on him. I don't give a shit if he can walk . He is going to play. "
Dear Gentles:
What is going on? We want to start a guy in centerfield who hasn't played baseball in three months, still limps to the bathroom, and pees standing on one foot? Are we even certain that is an upgrade over Hicks?
This is smelling worse than the Jay Burner trade.

Frst of all - can jujubes sting your gums and tongue?
secondly:
If you have pain and stiffness in the bottom of your feet and heel, you may have a problem called plantar fasciitis. Plantar fasciitis is irritation and swelling of the thick tissue on the bottom of your foot. The tissue is called plantar fascia. It connects your heel bone to your toes, creating the arch of your foot. Plantar fasciitis occurs when you overstretch or overuse this thick band of tissue. It can be painful and make it hard to walk. So, how do you know if you have plantar fasciitis? You will probably have pain and stiffness in the bottom of your foot or heel. The pain may be dull or sharp. The bottom of your foot may ache or burn. The pain is usually worse in the morning when you take your first steps, after standing or sitting for a while, when you climb stairs, or after you exercise. To treat this condition, your doctor will check the bottom of your foot for tenderness, swelling, redness, and stiffness or tightness in your arch. The doctor may first recommend that you try ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) to reduce your pain and swelling. You can also try heel stretching exercises, resting as much as possible for at least a week, and wearing shoes with good support. You can also try applying ice to the painful area at least twice a day, ten to 15 minutes each time. You might try wearing a heel cup, felt pads in your heel area, or shoe inserts. Wearing splints at night can stretch the injured fascia and allow it to heal. This can be particularly helpful. If these treatments don't work, your doctor may recommend you wear a boot cast for three to six weeks, or wear custom-made shoe inserts called orthotics, or have steroid shots in your heel. Some people even need surgery to release the tight tissue in your foot. The good news is that non-surgical treatments usually improve the pain. However, treatment may last from several months to two years before the symptoms get better. But most people will feel considerably better within nine months.
The good news is that foot pain has absolutely nothing to do with your ability to hit the baseball. You don’t put any of the weight of your swing on your feet Foot pain would never cause anyone to run to catch a ball slower, or avoid a leap to catch a ball up all over the wall. Clearly, he is perfectly healthy.
It was not the Burner trade, Alphonso, it was the Buhner trade, in which we got burned.
I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis 15 years ago. I wore heel cups for a few weeks, and felt fine. Also, women were wowed by my impressive new height.
But I digress.
I dunno, but it sure doesn't sound like a crippling injury. Of course, these Yankees aren't exactly the "Just Rub Some Dirt On It Bunch."
I got some custom orthotics - they cure EVERYTHING
This IS ALREADY WORSE than the Jay Buhner trade.
This reminds me of the Britt Burns saga, except the doctors said no then. It will probably have the same results.
I know a bit about plantar fasciitis since my wife, who is a chef and on her feet all day, suffered from it. It took over a year for her symptoms to subside, only to reoccur several months later and start the process again. As this is most definitely a chronic condition, this was an extremely short sighted trade by Crashman. Why is he never held responsible for his idiotic evaluations of players? Hicks, Donaldson, Cole, chapman, Britton…and he will be rewarded with a new contract and will certainly retain his assboy boone
I had plantar fasciitis. And I kept running on it. And then I suffered a proximal metatarsal fracture. And then I stood on one foot like a stork for a year until it all healed.
I can't wait to see Plantar Tots play . . . . .
Maybe Hal traded for him because he wanted a replacement for Gardener and couldn't find a player named Farmer so he went with the next best thing, a player with Planter fasciitis.
I apologize. But not enough to delete it.
Sounds like a quote from Bill Walton's blazers doctor.
I think read with the correct Groucho accent, during an earlier time, perhaps in black and white…. Doug’s word play would have gone down a storm. Today it requires too much intelligence to understand an almost-antanaclasis.
Okay, that's two minutes in the penalty box for you, Doug—and two minutes for you, Beauregard, for using the word antanaclasis.
Also, isn't that the start of that classic song?
"Antanaclasis—
Guajira antanaclasis..."
All right, I'll go in myself.
Besides there are no antanaclasis any more. We all have cable.
wow there's some comedy gold going down here today
Sorry I just love word play. Any programmers here? There’s an API protocol called JSON. Some people pronounce it jay-sahn, others Jason, or jays-on. It’s like GIF nobody knows how to say it. We were joking about it at work… and people were purposely making up new poor pronunciations in a meeting. I was almost uncontrollable when I came up with … jizz-on. I’M STILL EMPLOYED!
More recently… Joe Biden, with his frequent warning about the causes of Monkeypox… come on man!
I see you’ve all exited for another thread :)
Can't you just see the Planter's Peanuts commercials with Harrison Bader? Coming soon ....
