That Was Then And This Is Now

Close your brain to the idea that the Yankees are going to land a 23 year old superstar third baseman from Japan, Korea or Peoria.  You are thinking, " If George were here, this is what we should do..."

Hal, and his bald ( not that there is anything wrong with that) lacky, don't aggressively fill needs. They allocate funds to a pre-set budget. That gets you fat old guys who can't play anymore.  That gets you pitchers who aren't properly vetted.

The Red Sox will get the guy from abroad. You can already see their connection.  We have no connection.  Hal doesn't even speak Japanese.

And no matter what happens, the Yankees will not be sending Volpe back to Scranton for " seasoning."  Image is everything.  Even at a flat .200 with a poor glove.

Cabrera is awful.  He strikes out and hits into double plays as though he had number 27 on his back. Not to mention that he can't do the " good" things #27 often does.

And he is the wort base runner we have ever had.  He is the result of taking a guy from his natural position, and asking him to do everything else ( but pitch and catch), while he gets used to major league baseball. The Yankee ruined him.  They had to. All they had in reserve were Hicks and Donaldson.

They can't fashion a plan to move Gleyber.  Too expensive for mediocrity. Gleyber is becoming old early.

And building the team around DJ is about 8 years too late.  Not to mention Anthony Rizzo.  No matter, we are solid at catching for years to come.  We have Mr Muscle;  Ben Roveltvelt waiting in the eight room.    He hasn't gotten on the field in three years, but his attitude and work ethic are first class.

Brian and Boone were smart about our bullpen also.  If we get into the 9th with an 8 run lead, we put that game in the win column at least 60% of the time.

It is over folks.  The Yankees are toast. That is how it now is in the Bronx.

They have no future and they have no present.

But other than that, everything’s OK, right?

Took my grandson to the RailRiders game last night.
Benny Biceps looked like a player in that game. Rocket HR. Threw out a base stealer.
Chappy hits like his life depends on it, but should play 3B as a last result.
Florial still looks like an MLB player with real defensive skills. He does run like a LL though.
Peraza is ready. Period. I do not know why they took him out early.
Pitching does not look like it would play well in ML.
Missed Will Warren by one day.
I was in row M behind the Yanks dugout, so my view was really good.
Shelly Duncan looks the same, except a tad older, as we all are!!!

BTY, Red Thunder Played for Charlotte and hit a laser HR. He is batting over .350 with a huge OPS. With the Sox sucking so bad, they just might call him up soon.

Thanks for the review, Arch.

I'm not giving up on Waldo yet. I'd rather watch him play than Jackie.

Archie - Really cool that you went and thanks for the report.

Yeah, Ben has been tearing it up since he came off the DL. I just hope that that is all he tears.

Hey I just noticed that tears (as in rips) and tears (as in cry) are spelled the same. What a stupid language. What, did they run out of letters?

Yes just reported that Trevino has a groin pull and is on the IL

His replacement? The man, the myth Ben Rortvedt. Make of it what you will.
