Waiting For Yama

I rarely make predictions, but waiting for Yamamoto, for the Yankee Brass, is like " Waiting for Godot."  The French version.

He ain't coming here.

You heard it here first.  Remember that when you are handing out IIHIIF awards.

A bientôt.

From Jack Curry on X:

Hearing the Yankees signed catcher Justin Capellan from the Dominican Republic for 450K. That’s the international signing pool money they secured in the deal that sent Billy McKinney to the Pirates.

Can't wait to hear the howls when he signs with the Dodgers.

Ladies and Gentlemen (if there are any ladies, which I highly unless you count the IBS lady), introducing the latest acquisition by our beloved AAA GM:

The Yankees are signing right-hander Duane Underwood Jr. to a minor league contract, reports Jon Heyman of The New York Post. The righty will receive an invite to major league Spring Training.

Underwood, 29, had a challenging year in 2023. He tossed 24 1/3 innings for the Pirates with a 5.18 earned run average.

Apologies if you've already heard this. Now that Underwood is in the fold, we can forget about Yamamoto. We don't need him now.

If the Yanks are truly all in for 2024 after the Soto move, then they need to go all out for Yamamoto, then sign one of Montgomery, Kershaw, Montas. Then sign Hader as the closer. Then do whatever is necessary to off-load Stanton, that is if you get anyone stupid enough to bite.

We are doomed. Doomed, I say.

@ acrilly, Let the howling begin ....

@ Oasisdave, I thought that maybe HAL was going for it in 2024 but looks like it was too good to be true. I'm thinking that this is going to be it. Soto, Verdugo, and noto more. Get ready for the Yankee pitching apocalypse that will be 2024.
