Another weak effort on getaway day.
Boonie is such a motivator
He was not sharper. Maybe he's done for the year.
Just got in - does anyone know why Fried was pulled so early?
It has been a bit troubling, P Steve.
He is not pitching with confidence.
The "crack team" of coaching experts that our New York Yankees employ perhaps haven't seen yet what I have been seeing over his past four starts. He's not locating his pitches with confidence. His a bit uncharacteristically lost out there which is a shame because when Max is on he crackles with confidence and certainty.
There could be an injury repost incoming, Kal-El
INJURY REPORT, you mangy autocorrect bastards !
Fucking hell. I didn't realize the game was on, turned on YES, and this is the shit that greets me. Is Fried hurt? The last few games have been....odd.
Big head has been saying he didn't like the divots the other pitcher was leaving on the mound. Hopefully didn't tweak something landing wrong.
Or worse, the yearly blister comes early.
Game's toast anyway with the outstanding offensive (and I DO mean offensive) effort.
Thanks AA
There comes a time when we accept the mediocrity and just let go. I think this might be the time.
Yeah, this one’s over, except for burning out the bullpen a little more.
Speaking of which, what happened to Ryan Yarborough? He’s out there but never pitches. He’s supposed be the long man.
Fried has been very mediocre the last 3 games. Maybe he's been hiding an injury. Or using it as an excuse.
1 hit in 6 innings...again!
And Fried has an elbow problem. Scanning tomorrow.
"Elbow soreness," they say. My ass. Try "elbow surgery."
Hey, it's Yarbrough! He lives.
I'll give this through the next Yankee at-bats. OK, maybe not even that if the O's score here.
Cole coming up sooner than later...
From YANKEES.COM
BALTIMORE – Max Fried’s outing against the Orioles on Wednesday lasted three innings and 61 pitches before the Yankees left-hander exited with left elbow posterior soreness, the team announced. Fried is scheduled to be examined by team physician Dr. Chris Ahmad and undergo imaging Thursday in New York.Fried’s command was shaky, having allowed three runs before departing trailing, 3-0. Paul Blackburn began warming up in the top of the fourth inning.
Translation: Elbow surgery, possibly Tommy John. If TJ, he will not pitch again until 2028.
As I've been saying - ESPECIALLY with his last outing in Milwaukee - he hasn't been able to locate. Over-throwing. You could also see it in his face. Poor guy.
And Rocket scientist Boone left him in there last week to try to "save the bullpen".
Perhaps Matt Blake should be replaced by David Cone. Never gunna happen but a guy can dream, can't he....
At least they held the toilet bowls to one touchdown. Moral victory.
It’s been stated by several here, and yes it’s obvious - Fried hasn’t been sharp the last few starts, so it’s reasonable that his elbow has been bothering him for a few weeks. Did Fried not report it or was it covered up by boone? That’s the question I would ask boone after the game. Not that he would answer honestly. He’s there to carry water for the organization and that includes lying through his teeth.
One hit. Wow. And two errors.
Exactly - on all counts
Fried with a throwing error as well.
And - doing his best to return to last season’s form - Volpe gets on the board with his first E ! Welcome back !
Tightness in the elbow.
