The "crack team" of coaching experts that our New York Yankees employ perhaps haven't seen yet what I have been seeing over his past four starts. He's not locating his pitches with confidence. BALTIMORE – Max Fried’s outing against the Orioles on Wednesday lasted three innings and 61 pitches before the Yankees left-hander exited with left elbow posterior soreness, the team announced. Fried is scheduled to be examined by team physician Dr. Chris Ahmad and undergo imaging Thursday in New York.Fried’s command was shaky, having allowed three runs before departing trailing, 3-0. Paul Blackburn began warming up in the top of the fourth inning.

And Rocket scientist Boone left him in there last week to try to "save the bullpen".

BTR999 said...: It’s been stated by several here, and yes it’s obvious - Fried hasn’t been sharp the last few starts, so it’s reasonable that his elbow has been bothering him for a few weeks. Did Fried not report it or was it covered up by boone? That’s the question I would ask boone after the game. Not that he would answer honestly.
