That Girardi was joining the fun and rooting for the Red Sox. In a more subtle way than the other guys (h/t Rizzo, who stayed out of it...maybe why they hardly used him), but that's the way Joe does things. Remember how much he resented Posada because he had to teach Jorge how to catch better? Then he seethed, waiting his chance, became manager, and in Jorge's final season, Joe treated him like shit. Humiliated him. Benched him. Generally was a complete asshole.

The Yanks fired him. Sure, YES hired him, eventually. And he actually does call a good game when he works with Kay. That is not a venue for revenge, it's just hometown homers watching.
But on the national stage...well, that's different.
We won't be getting his either smart insights or disguised favortism during the Rays series. It's on TBS, and this is the likely announcer lineup.
Goodbye Joe, we gotta go, me-oh my-oh.

Rollins, Pedro and Grandy are a better studio team than Fox's Jeter, ARod and Papi. Mostly because ARod's self-consciousness makes everything uncomfortably tense. But the TBS guys do a very good, low key job.
I agree. If Darling is there, so much the better. Papi is insufferable.
I’m doing radio.
I hope you got consent.
I disagree with this post entirely. I didn't get this vibe at all from Joe. He was trying to be more balanced because it was a national broadcast instead of the YES network, but he was consistently complimentary of the Yankees all night. In fact, a Sox friend of mine texted me about how annoying Joe was because of his obvious pro-Yankees bias.
I almost always do radio.
I agree with this...that's the vibe I got too
Say what you want about Girardi, but he was seeing things about Yankees pitchers while Boooooone was watching Mr. Ed reruns.
And if you don't mind my saying, JM, you're the same guy who has a poster of Giancarlo over his bed, so you're perspective is a bit twisted
Seriously, someone at YES or NBC needs to alert Joe to stop double and triple-clutching when interjecting a comment or asked a question. The constant " I, I, I" starting his statements are terribly annoying.
