Today, we pleasure ourselves with the first pick in the Rule 5 draft

Patrick Ewing! Troy Aikman! LeBron James!

They've all been the No. 1 pick, usually by some stumblebum team that lost more than anybody else. But today... we... the 2009 World Champion Yankees... pick first, thanks to the Brian Bruney Memorial Pick.

Tim Tebow? Carmelo Anthony? Wayne Gretsky?

Screw it. Here's what we should do.
Call Ernie Acorsi and see if he's got anything. We might trade it down to the New York Giants, maybe get their first pick this year and next, plus a few supplemental picks.
Then next year, trade it down again, for another two first picks.
By 2011, we'll have so many first round picks, we'll have the entire first round. We'll trade that for Doc Halladay.
Hey, it beats taking Josh Phelps, am I right?

You spelled Gretzky wrong.
