Boone Logan or Royce Ring? The poem

Though few of us have ever tried it,

In this time of Yankee spring.
Soon Joe Girardi must decide it:
Keep Boone Logan… or Royce Ring?

It’s not a job you'd go and sit to,
As if to write some sales pitch slogan,
Hence, Joe Giradi must commit to:
One Royce Ring or one Boone Logan.

It’s sort of like your little brother,
In your footsteps, coming soon,
Joe takes one, then drops the other.
Either Royce, or else, it’s Boone.

Unto my wrists, I'd bring incision,
From agonizing o'er the choice,
Girardi must make his decision,
Shall it be Boone? Or is it Royce?
