Say it ain't so: Will Yanks spin off radio network to pro-Redsock ESPN?

Imagine Obama chosing Glenn Beck as press secretary. The Yanks might turn John and Suzyn over to the Fenwaynistas of Bristol, Conn.. So says Mushnick, the Bearded Bleater:

THERE'S a distant rumble that ESPN Radio is preparing to make a major play for Yankees radio rights, owned by WCBS through the end of this season. Of course, in most places, ESPN 1050's signal after sundown turns to static. But that wouldn't preclude ESPN from establishing a gamesonly regional network of smaller stations or from purchasing a local FM.

ESPN has always wanted to destroy us. It's a fetish. I bet they'd hire Joe Buck, Tim McCarver and Curt Schilling, then air Yankee games only in Borneo, forcing them to speak in Anne Heche's private language, so they don't spawn a local following. Maybe they'd have the Bleater himself -- long a foe of John -- sing "God Bless America" during the nightly 7th inning salute to John Henry. Bleats the Bleater:

And since when did current Yankees management/ownership care more about fans than money and/or radio quality (see: empty up-front seats in new Yankee Stadium; John Sterling)? Also, a wise man tells us, the Yankees are eager to float the ESPN 1050 possibility as a means of spooking WCBS into a rights increase.

Mushnick always had a red stiffy about John. Is he taking instructions from his Soros-ian puppet masters on Yawkey Way?
