I'm just noting that our newest, full-time, designated hitter was not exactly overwhelming this spring.
He is also just about 40, I think.
Luckily, this is not likely to be a major problem, but it quickly could become one.
Politically we need Jorge to be successful. He is a great clubhouse leader.
He has been clutch his entire career.
We love the guy.
We need him to be a constant threat and we need him to deliver.
Not strike outs. Not rally killing double plays.
Doubles to the gaps will suffice.
But I sense the end is near.

WAYZ I SEEZ IT: It's his to have until June. If Jorge isn't hitting, somebody else will move in. But he's got the job until then.
Fair enough.
The end is near for Jorge. Which is very sad.
