Why Is Everyone So Startled?

I told you all, very early in the season, that this Yankee team was going nowhere.

I told you before the season began, that this team was too old and susceptible to injury to win anything.

I told you from Tampa things like: Raphael Soriano was a nut case and would hurt us all year; That Pablo Feliciano was a discarded Met and, therefore, useless to the world; that Cervelli couldn't hit; that Swisher, enthusiastic and bouncy , is what the White Sox fans and manager said he is; that Brett Gardner was a AAAA player who can't steal a base; that Nunez was only hopefully a better hitter than Pena; that Jorge, despite his recent spate of hits, was not our best choice for DH; that Boone Logan was.....

I told you that you would be watching this season the end of an era.

I told you that without tough personnel choices by Girardi and Cashman, the Yankees would learn nothing from this season and lose handily anyway.

I told you we have no talent in the minor leagues. None that we are aware of, but enough to trade away and make us the New York Knicks of baseball.

I told you that Cashman will end his run with the Yankees this year and go work elsewhere.

So what is everyone so worked up about?

Oh, I get it, there is no football.

Yeah, what he said.

Whaddya think the braintrust talks about no one but Colon and what a great find he was?

And why is Alphonso smarter than Cashman? And everyone else we can name in the Yankee upper echelons?

Why can long-time fans spot this stuff before a game is even played, but the 'experts' can't?

The only thing the Yankees have done right all year is continue their no beards and mustaches policy. Imagine if Gardner not only had his Outer Limits head, but a Youktee or whatever downy crap Pedroia is currently embarrassing himself with.

Old, inept, and doomed, our guys at least look very neat.
