The Sultan of Swish swooshes again

When Nick Swisher signed with Cleveland, everybody thought: "Well, at least he won't crap the bed in October any more; he won't be playing."

Well, the Ice Swisherman hath swished again.

Last night, in the Selig Wild Card Game, Jolly Old St. Nick went 0-4 with two strikeouts and five runners left on base.

That includes this moment, arguably the game's most important at bat, when the Indians trailed by 3 in the fifth. A long fly plates a run.

No, I take it back. The most critical moment came in the 7th, when the Indians still trailed by 3.

The Indians went down 1-2-3 in the ninth. A couple hits, and Swish could have made the final out.

The saddest part of this is that in Cleveland, Swish might not get too many more chances to play in October. He's 32. His batting average fell by 26 points, to .246. Cleveland has him for four more years, at $15 million per. What are the odds that they dump him back to us when he's 36?

No surprise here. Dumping swish to the Schmindians proved the Yankee F.O. has (had?) at least two functioning brain cells. Our last post season really turned me off to Swisher despite how much I really did like the guy.

They don't call him 'Swish' because he's gay.
